<div>SHOWTIME ANNOUNCES WINNER OF ITS 4th ANNUAL LATINO FILMMAKER SHOWCASE </div>

New York, NY, August 19, 2003 --As part of a continuing commitment to develop and support up-and-coming Latino filmmakers, Showtime Networks Inc. is proud to announce that George Valencia is the winner of SHOWTIME's 4th Annual Latino Filmmaker Showcase.  George Valencia, who directed the short film MOMENT TO MOMENT, will receive a $30,000 grant to use towards the production of a 15-30 minute short film, which will have its exclusive world premiere on SHOWTIME.
 
George Valencia's film MOMENT TO MOMENT will be the highlight of the SHOWTIME Latino Filmmaker Showcase, which will air on the network on Monday, September 15 at 9:30 PM (ET/PT) as part of Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 -- October 15).

This year, Showtime Networks joined forces with the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (LALIFF) for its LATINO FILMMAKER SHOWCASE.  The Showtime Networks $30,000 grant was awarded to George Valencia following his win in the Best Short Award at the festival. Pancho Mansfield, Showtime Networks' Senior Vice President, Development, Original Programming participated as part of the LALIFF's international jury which also consisted of co-founders of the festival Edward James Olmos and Marlene Dermer.  Showtime Networks' Sandra Avila served as coordinator for the network's LATINO FILMMAKER SHOWCASE.
 
In addition to Valencia's film, the Latino Filmmaker Showcase will also feature four additional films, which received finalist status.  The network will also be premiering VESTERPINE by Gustavo Mercado. VESPERTINE is the final product produced by Mercado in collaboration with Showtime and the $30K he won from last year's SHOWCASE.
