Kalim Chowdhrey in “Devils”
Paul Chowdhry stars as Kalim Chowdhrey in the series “Devils” on The CW. Of Indian origins, always calm, balanced and impeccably dressed, Kalim works as an analyst for the team. He has mathematical training and a clever mind. Massimo (Alessandro Borghi) and the others can always count on him and he is very loyal to Massimo. However, his trust in Massimo’s intuition starts teetering when Massimo seems to lose his clarity as he gets more and more involved in his struggle with Dominic (Patrick Dempsey).
Chowdhry is a multi-award-winning stand-up comedian, actor and writer. On August 19, 2019, his record-breaking stand-up tour show, Live Innit, was released as an Amazon Prime original special in 200 countries worldwide. This followed a twice-extended UK tour which included a sold-out show at Wembley arena, making Chowdhry the first British Asian stand-up to sell out the 10,000-seater venue. His performance there was voted by the public as one of Wembley Arena’s top ten shows of 2017.
His film roles include “Swinging With The Finkels” alongside Martin Freeman and Jerry Stiller, and “Colour Me Kubrick” with John Malkovich.
On television, he was a much-loved contestant on the third series of the Emmy and BAFTA-nominated hit show “Taskmaster,” has twice headlined Live at the Apollo, and has hosted Channel 4’s Stand Up for the Week.
He has won Best Live Event at the ITV Asian Media Awards, Comedian of the Year at the Asian Voice Awards, and the ‘Eastern Eye’ Comedian of the Year award. In its following issue, The Eastern Eye described him as “the greatest British Asian comedian of all time”.
Chowdhry has a prolific presence online, and his videos have been viewed over 60 million times on social media.
