RACHEL SMITH NAMED HOST OF ‘ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT WEEKEND’ NOW BROADCASTING FROM NEW YORK CITY





October 6, 2023 (New York, NY) –Rachel Smith has been named host of ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT Weekend, it was announced today by Erin Johnson, Executive Producer of ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT.

ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT Weekend is a one-hour version of ET’s popular nightly broadcast, providing more updates and expanded coverage on the week’s biggest entertainment headlines.  For the first time in its 42-year history, ET Weekend will now broadcast from New York City, with Smith taking over hosting duties beginning October 7.

Smith joined ET as a New York-based correspondent in 2019 and ever since has called “The City That Never Sleeps” her second home.  She has interviewed the who’s who of NYC including Sarah Jessica Parker, Robert DeNiro, Jerry Seinfeld and many others. In addition to her new anchor duties, she will continue to be a correspondent on the nightly syndicated broadcast.

“Rachel has been a pivotal member of the ET team, serving as a vital link to the East Coast and infusing our broadcast with her passion and vibrant personality,” Johnson said. “With Rachel at the helm of ET Weekend, our entertainment coverage will truly span coast to coast.”

Smith previously co- hosted CBS’ “New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash,” the ABC syndicated weekly series “On The Red Carpet” and was a correspondent for both ABC’s “Good Morning America” and “Nightline.” She was crowned Miss USA 2007 and went on to represent the United States at Miss Universe 2007, where she placed 4th runner-up.
